Like most smaller town school districts, the Loveland City School District has a problem: It’s hard to communicate with their stakeholders in a meaningful and easily-accessible way.
Despite having a public information officer who manages a plethora of social media and other online presences, Loveland schools still miss some key people. So when vital information has to be disseminated to the community, there are often significant gaps. Then, when critical decisions have to be made – like voting on a school levy – there is a considerable problem. Confusion, mistrust, misinformation and grows and leaves everyone involved frustrated and angry.
The S(o)up’s On Podcast is a bi-weekly podcast featuring an approximately 30-minute conversation with the Loveland City School District’s superintendent, Dr. Amy Crouse. Interviewed by journalist and Loveland Local News founder Joe Wessels, Crouse and Wessels discuss everything from questions about a property tax levy on the fall ballot used to fund district operations and capital expenses to exciting and fun things going on in the school district. Wessels approaches interviews as a journalist – not a PR person – and asks direct questions and presses for answers. He also helps find compelling stories in the district to share with the community.
