The Recreation Board shall provide for the development, maintenance and operation of playgrounds and recreational facilities and programs for the City. The incumbents as of the time of the adoption of this Charter shall serve their respective unexpired terms.

Board Members
There shall be a Recreation Board consisting of five members, electors of the City, appointed by the Council for staggered and overlapping terms of four years. One of the five appointees shall be approved by and be a representative of the Board of Education. The current board members are the following:

Stan McCoy Sr. Community Service Award
Annually,the Recreation Board accepts nominations for the Stan McCoy Sr. Community Service Award. Nominations must come from the governing body of the nominee’s organization, association, committee, commission, etc. Nominations from organizations in which the nominee has never been a member will not be accepted. Nominations from individuals will also not be accepted.
Nominees must be persons of quality and integrity who, with love and enthusiasm for the Loveland area, have worked to sustain and improve the community. Nominees must have been an active participant for at least three years in recreation, park or environmental activities, which benefit the City of Loveland and/or residents.
The Loveland Recreation Board will make the final selections. Nominees not selected for the award may be re-submitted. The award presentation will take place at a Loveland City Council meeting or other appropriate event. A plaque will be presented to the recipient and their name will also be engraved on a plaque that is displayed at City Hall.
