Beyond Love Stories

Don’t bother holding your breath.

When I am in love
I am teetering on the edge
of something unspeakable,
something unknowable,
something uncontrollable,
something so desirable.

We all speak of falling in love.
I speak to you of love’s madness,
of being obliterated by love,
covered by the inky substance of love,
lost in the labyrinth of love,
standing at the rocky precipice
where I still know who I am,
and that great leap of abandon
into the wonderfully infinite
God.

There are love stores,
and there is obliteration into love.
