FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BATAVIA, Ohio –This year Ohio Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 17-23. This is a good time to review emergency plans for flooding, tornados, and strong thunderstorms that occur in the spring and summer.
As part of Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week, the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness is coordinating a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20. Clermont County Emergency Management Agency encourages residents, government agencies, schools, and businesses to participate in the exercise. However, Clermont County will not be sounding the outdoor warning sirens at that time. The county tests the outdoor warning sirens on the first Wednesday of each month at noon. The next siren test is scheduled to be at noon on April 3.
