For the fourth year, friends gathered in downtown Loveland to run along the bike trail Thanksgiving morning.

Eric Craft, who has organized the friendly run or walk for his friends and family, said it started as an alternative to the much larger, much more organized Turkey Trot in downtown Cincinnati. Everyone meets along the Loveland bike trail near Nisbet Park.

“(We’re) just wanting to burn some calories to start our day of being thankful,” he said.

About 35 adults and children participate in the informal event where participants decide whether they will do five or 10 kilometers, he said.

“Friends come from Milford, Loveland, Anderson, Mason, Northern Kentucky, West Side, Hyde Park,” he said. They get started around 8:30 a.m.
